Now that spring is “springing” and the weather is beginning to warm up, many people are beginning to plan their summer vacation. There’s nothing quite as amazing as stepping off the plane to have the foreign heat hit you in the face and the good news is, it’s not too far away. But, going on vacation means more than booking yourself a place to stay in an exotic resort and then counting down the days to departure. In fact, for a lot of women, there’s a lot of preparation to do before their vacation to make them feel and look incredible while they’re away.
If this sounds familiar to you, join us in prepping for this year’s vacation so that by the time you’re getting ready to board the plane, you already know how amazing you’re going to look with a tan!
Go shopping
No vacation is complete without new shoes, clothes, bags, and accessories to go with you, so now is the time to start your vacation shopping. A great rule to follow when choosing new items for your vacation is by breaking it down into sections so that you don’t miss anything.
Sandals
When gearing up for a vacation, one knows that there will be plenty of walking involved. That’s why having comfortable orthotic sandals for women becomes paramount. These sandals offer not just style, but crucial support for the feet during extended periods of exploration and adventure. With cushioned soles and ergonomic designs, they alleviate the strain that often accompanies hours of walking or standing, ensuring every step is a comfortable one. Whether navigating bustling city streets or trekking through scenic landscapes, having the right support means you can fully immerse yourself in the experience without worrying about discomfort or fatigue. Opting for orthotic sandals blends fashion with wellness, allowing you to make the most of your vacation while keeping your feet happy and healthy.
Evening wear
If you’re going somewhere hot and sunny, then there’s a good chance there is some sort of nightlife you’ll want to get involved with, whether that’s going out for an evening meal or hitting the town and exploring the clubs and bars. Either way, you need to think practically. If you’ve been in the sun all day, the last thing you want is something that’s too tight or going to rub against your skin and irritate it. While you’ve probably done everything you can to avoid sunburn and protect your skin, it still happens from time to time.
That’s why it’s a good idea to look into evening wear such as rompers and maxi dresses that will allow your skin to breathe whilst still looking fantastic. Pair those with an oversized bag or cute little clutch and some comfortable sandals, and you’re going to look amazing and be comfortable at the same time!
Beach wear
If you’re a girl that loves spending as much time at the beach as possible, then the items you choose to wear here are perhaps one of the most important. You need something that’s going to make you feel super sexy yet still be supportive and cover the areas you want to cover.
You could start by looking at swimming costumes that flatter and accentuate your curves so that if you do want to swim in the ocean, you don’t have to worry about losing one of your two pieces. Then, you can look at bikini tops with adjustable straps so that you can get a nice even tan while you’re sunbathing. The same goes for bikini bottoms too; you want something that’s going to feel comfortable yet still be adjustable so that you’re as beautifully tanned as you’ve been dreaming of.
Lounging by the pool
Pool days are a little bit different than heading to the beach. If you’ve rented your own villa, you’ll have a lot more privacy, which means you can relax a little when it comes to lounging and getting a tan. However, if you’ve got a shared pool, such as in a hotel or apartment complex, you’ll probably be using the pool to cool off between your tanning sessions, meaning you’ll need a beautiful set of swimwear paired with some sunglasses and a sun hat to shield your eyes.
Sightseeing
If there’s nothing better than exploring when you’re visiting somewhere new, then you’ll need to think about what you could wear when you go sightseeing, especially if it’s hot. The first thing you need to think about is how far you’ll be walking; the last thing you want is to chafe because your legs have gotten all sweaty from walking around. A light pair of shorts underneath a sundress often does the trick, but you could also invest in some chub rub to stop this from happening.
You’ll also need comfortable yet breathable shoes, especially if you’re going to be on your feet all day. Don’t make the mistake of buying cheap sandals or trainers here; you’re better off paying a little bit more not just for comfort, but durability and style too.
Look at what you’re eating
The last thing you want when you’re on vacation is to feel self conscious about what you’re wearing while lapping up the sun. And, you especially don’t want to be covering up when you’ve spent all of that money on your beautiful vacation. While you should never feel like you’re anything other than beautiful, everyone gets self conscious from time to time. That’s why, now more than ever, it’s important to take a look at what you’re eating so that you can trim up ready for your relaxing vacation.
If you would like to lose a bit more than a few pounds here and there, it’s still not too late! Let’s take a look at how you can transform your body in a healthy way in the next few months before your vacation:
- Don’t eat because it’s meal time. Lots of people make the mistake of eating because society dictates that it’s meal time. If you’re genuinely hungry, then absolutely eat. However, a lot of people end up overeating because they ate just because it was meal time.
- Serve yourself smaller portions. Another instance where people end up overeating is because they’re eating everything on a larger plate. Instead, find a smaller plate and fill that instead. You’ll find that you’re still satisfied without having extra unwanted calories.
- Drink more water. And not just because you need to stay hydrated either; a lot of the time, people mistake hunger for thirst. If you think you’re hungry, try drinking a glass of water and waiting ten minutes. More often than not, you’ll find that you were in fact, just thirsty.
- Don’t finish your meal in fear of wasting food. If you feel like you’re full, wrap your remainders up and eat them later. Sometimes the body finds it much easier to eat smaller portions more often to digest, which can also prevent any fat being stored.
- Eat slower. Your brain and stomach need time to communicate to each other. Eating slower helps your brain realize when your stomach is actually full.
- Don’t deprive yourself. People often mistake what it truly means to live a healthier lifestyle. Sure, you could cut out all of the junk food and lose weight, but as soon as you hit your target weight, you’ll then begin eating those items again and could risk putting weight back on. Instead, eat everything in moderation and use the above guidelines and you’ll soon realize that you can still lose weight even with the foods you really enjoy.
Not only will these methods of healthy eating help burn off calories faster, but it will help retrain your brain to recognize when you’re actually hungry and also when to stop eating.
Pamper yourself!
What good is it spending all of that money on a new vacation wardrobe if you don’t feel confident wearing it? If you want to feel sexy, beautiful and comfortable, then why not take the time to pamper yourself before you go?
Hair
You’ve got all of these stunning outfits, so you naturally want your hair to follow suit. Consider heading to the salon just before your vacation for a fresh cut and color. Not only will you turn heads, but the sun and ocean can sometimes dry out your hair. The fresh cut and color will help keep your hair looking healthy, shiny, and super soft.
You might also consider taking some methods of heatless styling with you to prevent any unnecessary damage to your hair. There are loads of ways to curl your hair without any heat that are now even comfortable to sleep in. This Give Me Cosmetics heatless curler is a great example, but there are loads on the market to choose from.
Skin
The last thing you want while you’re on vacation is to have problematic skin. And, as you know, the sun can very quickly dry out your skin and leave it dry and flaky. While you’ll need to continue skincare while you’re on vacation, getting into a good skincare routine with it now (as well as drinking plenty of water) will help keep your skin looking amazing, especially while you’re tanning.
Nails
Another great way of feeling amazing while you’re on vacation is by treating yourself to a mani/pedi before you go away. This will help boost your confidence when it comes to bearing all in your bikinis and summer dresses.
Teeth
Finally, if you’re planning on taking lots of pictures to post on Instagram and keep for future memories, consider getting some teeth whitening strips to help lift out any stains that might be on your teeth. While you look amazing as you are, putting a strip on just before heading out will make a world of difference to how you look and feel.
Have an amazing vacation looking elegant and sexy!
