The brand that took home the “Product of the Year” award in the baby category, has introduced an organic line of baby food to give parents a hand in feeding their baby organic fruits and vegetables.
“Parents asked for organic and we answered,” said Jeff Boutelle, president of Beech-Nut. “Organic options are available in the fruit and vegetable aisle in the grocery store and we want Beech-Nut to be part of the same option in the baby food aisle, allowing parents to make the best choices for their family’s needs.”
I chose “Just Sweet Potatoes” for my son’s first food. He just turned 1 year old last Friday and has been exclusively breastfed up until this point. He was slow to get his first tooth, so we decided to delay introducing solids. He was happy to try sweet potatoes though and anxiously took a bite. He was unsure at first, but quickly warmed up to the texture and taste, asking for more!
I’m anxious to try out their unique combinations like apple, raspberry & avocado, peas & spinach, and butternut squash & sweet corn. I think it’s great that they are incorporating healthy vegetables like butternut squash, spinach, kale, avocado and quinoa into baby food. Now that’s real food for babiesโข!
As if that wasn’t enough, Beech-Nut Nutrition Company announced this morning that they have now listed the percentage of each ingredient for all of their jars and pouches of baby food, on their web site. Beech-Nut is the first US baby food company to provide this type of information to parents so you know exactly what you are feeding your baby.
