They have large openings but still contain basic basket filler nicely. The large baskets need approximately 3oz (1 bag) of Easter Grass but you may need more or less, depending on how much you are putting in the basket. We prefer classic green grass filler, but you can get other colors depending on your child and personal preferences.

Gifts For Babies & Toddlers
Okay, so maybe I went a bit overboard this year with my Easter Baskets, but it’s ok because everything I bought was items I would have bought for them otherwise, I’ve just been saving them for their Easter Baskets rather than giving them the items over the past few months. (And a few of the items may have been meant for Christmas and I just recently found where I hid them… Shhhh, don’t tell!)
I always put some sort of plushie in my kid’s Easter Baskets and in their Christmas stockings. It’s pretty much the only time of year they get new stuffed animals. With 5 kids, I have to be mindful of how many stuffed animals come into this 2,000 sq ft house! So if I bother to get a plushie for my kids, it’s because I want it to live here for a long time. That’s why I chose Kalencom’s Flamingo and Octopus plushies. They are incredibly soft, well-made, machine washable, and just the right size for toddlers to cuddle.
These are some of the items that are going in my toddler’s Easter Baskets. One of them is 18 months old and the other is 3 years old.
Arts and crafts supplies are a great Easter basket stuffer and appropriate for most kids ages 1-18, depending on their interests. Crayola products of any kind are always a hit whether it’s pencils, crayons, paints, or markers.

Another thing I’m loving right now is just about everything from Hearth & Handโข with Magnolia. I mean, who doesn’t love Joanna Gaines? I also used Easter as an excuse to grab a few fun things to add to our playroom like Mushie stacking cups, a couple more Candylab cars, Grimm’s monochrome stacking houses and wooden bals to go with our Grimm’s monochrome rainbow that my 4 year old will be getting for his birthday in late April, as well as some adorable Uncle Goose Planet Blocks for my 18th month old and Tender Leaf Toys Mountain Pass Stack. I also thought they would enjoy the Halftoys Humpback Whale since they are both really interested in underwater creatures right now.
Gifts For Young Children
I have the most fun buying gifts for kids ages 5-8. They finally know what they are interested in but still young enough to play with toys.
My 6 year old is obsessed with OSMO right now so I got him another learning game that I know he will enjoy. I also got him the entire set of The Tuttle Twins books so he can learn why the free market works and why socialism doesn’t. He’s also a huge fan of bristle blocks and Picasso Tiles, so I got him these cool bristle blocks with LED lights!
Target’s Dollar Spot has a bunch of great Easter Basket stuffers right now like these neat shaped crayons and tangram erasers. They also have cute socks, pencils, bubbles, arts and crafts, and other fun things to fill out your Easter basket!
Gifts For Older Children
Sometimes’ as kids get older they go through a stage where they can be tricky to buy for, especially if they are a boy. At least that is my experience. I used to have no problem buying anything for my second-born but now that he’s nearly 11, he’s getting tricky to please!
For the hard to please boy, I found a few big hits! Since he discovered Candylab cars, he’s been obsessed. He is now collecting the large cars and displays them on a shelf in his room. We love Candylab cars because they are wood, beautifully designed, elegant, and great on our Way To Play rubber roads.
I am NOT the kind of mom that gets bags and bags of crap candy from Walmart for everyone to gorge themselves on at Easter. Yes, we believe Easter is a time to celebrate after 40 days of Lent, but we do so with delicious and healthy treats like Larabars, Clif Bars, Annie’s fruit gummies, and other select candy and treats which I will cover more below if you keep reading!
Gifts For Teens
I know some would say that teens are too old to get an Easter basket and for some, that might be true, but not for my teen. She’s my one and only daughter and I will keep spoiling her with gifts as long as I’m alive.
An Easter basket for teens can be tricky, but I think I struck the perfect balance between fun and practical for my teenage daughter. She loves pandas and Baby Yoda, so this fun Panda Graphic T-Shirt was a MUST. Books We Will Be Reading After Easter
We have a bunch of Easter books in our book display shelf in the living room right now, but after Easter, we will we swapping them all out for books about farming, vegetables, homesteading, and spring! We are looking forward to playing outside in the dirt as soon as that warmer weather arrives and all the snow melts here in New Hampshire. We can’t wait to get our hands in the earth!

When it comes to Easter Candy, I try to get the healthiest options I can find rather than buying whatever is screaming at me the loudest when I walk into Walmart. I was able to snag Smashmallow Easter Variety Pack and a couple organic dark chocolate bunnies at Whole Foods.
