Let’s face it, no one is going to blame you if you go totally overboard on your kid’s Easter Baskets this year. I mean, last year we were in the middle of a panic over the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic and you were probably more focused on trying to procure toilet paper and hand sanitizer than spoiling your children with Easter gifts. This year, we are still “social distancing” but I think we’ve all properly stocked up on toilet paper and disinfectant spray at this point and can focus on more important things… like Easter Basket gift ideas!
That’s why you are reading this post, right?
Great, then you are in for a treat! We’ve got SO MANY AWESOME Easter Basket gift ideas so you can build the best Easter Basket EVER!
Let’s get started!
The Best Easter Baskets
First, you need to start with the best Easter baskets. What could be better than these heavy-duty white wire baskets from Hearth & Handโข with Magnolia?
This is the large size Wire Easter Basket with Handle from Hearth & Handโข with Magnolia which is reasonably priced at $12.99. They are as beautiful as they are durable and I love knowing that I won’t have to buy new Easter baskets every year now that I have these!
They have large openings but still contain basic basket filler nicely. The large baskets need approximately 3oz (1 bag) of Easter Grass but you may need more or less, depending on how much you are putting in the basket. We prefer classic green grass filler, but you can get other colors depending on your child and personal preferences.
Target has a great selection of cheaper Easter Baskets in store and online! Here are a few of our other favorites…
Gifts For Babies & Toddlers
Okay, so maybe I went a bit overboard this year with my Easter Baskets, but it’s ok because everything I bought was items I would have bought for them otherwise, I’ve just been saving them for their Easter Baskets rather than giving them the items over the past few months. (And a few of the items may have been meant for Christmas and I just recently found where I hid them… Shhhh, don’t tell!)
I always put some sort of plushie in my kid’s Easter Baskets and in their Christmas stockings. It’s pretty much the only time of year they get new stuffed animals. With 5 kids, I have to be mindful of how many stuffed animals come into this 2,000 sq ft house! So if I bother to get a plushie for my kids, it’s because I want it to live here for a long time. That’s why I chose Kalencom’s Flamingo and Octopus plushies. They are incredibly soft, well-made, machine washable, and just the right size for toddlers to cuddle.
These are some of the items that are going in my toddler’s Easter Baskets. One of them is 18 months old and the other is 3 years old.
Arts and crafts supplies are a great Easter basket stuffer and appropriate for most kids ages 1-18, depending on their interests. Crayola products of any kind are always a hit whether it’s pencils, crayons, paints, or markers.
This year I decided to grab a few Micador early stART products as well as a couple Crayola standbys when I saw them on sale on Zulily in February.
Another thing I’m loving right now is just about everything from Hearth & Handโข with Magnolia. I mean, who doesn’t love Joanna Gaines? She’s just the sweetest thing ever and I love everything she makes and does. That said, of course, I love her “Easter Gifting Collection” at Target. Some of the items are small and can easily go into an Easter Basket while others are quite large and would need to be wrapped. I snagged the toy spinning tops for the Easter Basket and the beautiful Wood Dollhouse with Furniture for my son’s 4th birthday which is just 2 weeks after Easter. Whether you need some Easter basket stuffers or a big gift for an upcoming birthday, you need to check them out in-store or online!
I also used Easter as an excuse to grab a few fun things to add to our playroom like Mushie stacking cups, a couple more Candylab cars, Grimm’s monochrome stacking houses and wooden bals to go with our Grimm’s monochrome rainbow that my 4 year old will be getting for his birthday in late April, as well as some adorable Uncle Goose Planet Blocks for my 18th month old and Tender Leaf Toys Mountain Pass Stack. I also thought they would enjoy the Halftoys Humpback Whale since they are both really interested in underwater creatures right now.
Gifts For Young Children
I have the most fun buying gifts for kids ages 5-8. They finally know what they are interested in but still young enough to play with toys.
My 6 year old is obsessed with OSMO right now so I got him another learning game that I know he will enjoy. I also got him the entire set of The Tuttle Twins books so he can learn why the free market works and why socialism doesn’t. He’s also a huge fan of bristle blocks and Picasso Tiles, so I got him these cool bristle blocks with LED lights!
Target’s Dollar Spot has a bunch of great Easter Basket stuffers right now like these neat shaped crayons and tangram erasers. They also have cute socks, pencils, bubbles, arts and crafts, and other fun things to fill out your Easter basket!
Gifts For Older Children
Sometimes’ as kids get older they go through a stage where they can be tricky to buy for, especially if they are a boy. At least that is my experience. I used to have no problem buying anything for my second-born but now that he’s nearly 11, he’s getting tricky to please!
For the hard to please boy, I found a few big hits! Since he discovered Candylab cars, he’s been obsessed. He is now collecting the large cars and displays them on a shelf in his room. We love Candylab cars because they are wood, beautifully designed, elegant, and great on our Way To Play rubber roads.
I am NOT the kind of mom that gets bags and bags of crap candy from Walmart for everyone to gorge themselves on at Easter. Yes, we believe Easter is a time to celebrate after 40 days of Lent, but we do so with delicious and healthy treats like Larabars, Clif Bars, Annie’s fruit gummies, and other select candy and treats which I will cover more below if you keep reading!
Gifts For Teens
I know some would say that teens are too old to get an Easter basket and for some, that might be true, but not for my teen. She’s my one and only daughter and I will keep spoiling her with gifts as long as I’m alive.
An Easter basket for teens can be tricky, but I think I struck the perfect balance between fun and practical for my teenage daughter. She loves pandas and Baby Yoda, so this fun Panda Graphic T-Shirt was a MUST. I also grabbed her some new Pacifica makeup and lip balm on sale at Whole Foods, along with these Mineral Bath and Foam Bath Salts. I also grabbed her some cute Baby Yoda scrunchies from Box Lunch and Our Lady of Guadalupe and Sacred Heart Scrunchies from Be A Heart. My daughter’s confirmation saint is Satin Theresa of Avila so I got her Conversation With Christ. She has expressed interest in starting a garden this spring so I thought Backyard Homestead was a great choice to get her as well! I thought some PaMu Quiet Bluetooth Earbuds to listen to her favorite podcast while she’s gardening would be a nice touch to the best Easter basket ever!
Religious Easter Gifts To Encourage Their Faith
Jesus is the reason for the season! Let’s foster their faith in Christ with religious Easter gifts. From books to a play mass set, these gifts will help encourage, uplift, and enable children to learn more about the real reason we celebrate Easter – our Lord and Savior has risen from the dead!
Almond Rod Toys makes a beautiful Wooden Mass Kit with everything needed to let kids play pretend Mass. It’s durable enough for toddlers, yet big enough for older children to play with too. It comes in a cotton drawstring bag. Almond Rod Toys also makes beautiful wooden saint blocks that display beautifully as well. Perfect for your home altar.
We got a few stoles in liturgical colors and altar linens to go with it and The Little Catholic’s Book of Liturgical Colors which nicely explains the meaning of the colors during Mass.
There are lots of great books to read during the Easter season, which I’ll cover some of them below, but the ones pictured above are my absolute favorites.
The Baby Believerยฎ collection of board books are one of my FAVORITES. They are just so cute, gorgeous illustrations, plus they look great on the shelf! Grab a few of these books to make the best Easter Basket ever!
Another item I was so happy to finally snag was Be A Heart Mary Doll and Joseph Doll (who hasn’t arrived yet!) Their adorable Mary Doll sold out quickly around Christmas time so I was delighted to finally be able to order one on stocking day! I also ordered their new Joseph Doll the day he became available to order as well! I love supporting small businesses, especially Catholic ones. Erica Tighe Campbell is the owner and designer of Be A Heart and such a sweet soul.

Books We Are Reading Before Easter
Some of these you might want as you are building the best Easter basket ever and others you might want to be reading in the weeks leading up to Easter. Either way, the books above are just a small selection of what we are currently reading.
Books We Will Be Reading After Easter
We have a bunch of Easter books in our book display shelf in the living room right now, but after Easter, we will we swapping them all out for books about farming, vegetables, homesteading, and spring! We are looking forward to playing outside in the dirt as soon as that warmer weather arrives and all the snow melts here in New Hampshire. We can’t wait to get our hands in the earth!
Healthy Easter Candy Options
When it comes to Easter Candy, I try to get the healthiest options I can find rather than buying whatever is screaming at me the loudest when I walk into Walmart. I was able to snag Smashmallow Easter Variety Pack and a couple organic dark chocolate bunnies at Whole Foods.
Sugar Plum Chocolates has an amazing selection of gorgeous Easter chocolates including this huge half-pound chocolate Easter bunny! Choose from milk chocolate, dark chocolate, or white chocolate.
We’re also loving Absolutely Grain Free Coconut Chews! These wholesome and yummy little treats are individually wrapped bites of goodness that are bursting with flavor, not chemicals. They are also gluten and dairy free! With delicious flavors like Key Lime and Blueberry, you won’t be able to eat just one.
You can find Absolutely! Gluten Free Coconut Chews in Kroger, Vons, Shoprite, Hariss teeter, select Safewayโs, Instacart, and you can purchase Key Lime and Blueberry on Amazon.
Here are a few of my favorite snacks to include when I build the best Easter basket. Also fun to serve the kids on Easter…
