Changing your hair color is one of the easiest and most obvious ways to update or change your look for Spring & Summer 2010. It doesn’t require a long term commitment like a pixie cut or the bob.
This season’s hair color is about the individual projecting their own style. Moving away from monochrome and into natural multi-dimensional tones.
You can still do your overall base color at home, you may need to visit the salon for the accents/ highlights. For those of you really willing to learn how to do it all your self, check out this book, The Hair Color Mix Book: More Than 150 Recipes for Salon-Perfect Color at Home by Lorri Goddard Clark. Filled with techniques on how to do this work at home. You can purchase the book on Amazon.com.
For those of you not so brave, make your appointments now for that spring hair color change. Here are the colors to consider…
We recommend natural reds this season, still bold, still strong, but natural. Clairol Herbal Essence Color, 048.5 Spicy Ginger-deep Intense Copper or Clairol Haircolor, Auburnin’ Hot – Auburn 35 are two beautiful shades this season.
This spring Peroxide blondes will transition into summers Golden blonds. These are some natural looking blondes with dimension (2 to 3 tones of blonde highlighted into the hair) this season. We recommend Clairol Hydrience Haircolor, Sunrise 004 or Clairol Hydrience Color, 014 Bamboo. For those of you with color in your hair try an Herbal Essence Highlights Kit.
This season both of these colors are “Dark” deep rich tones with multi dimension (highlighted with subtle variations in tone). We recommend Clairol Balsam Lasting Color Locking Creme System, Dark Brown 615, or Clairol Balsam Lasting Color Locking Creme System, Black 618.
