Summer can be a tough time to get that right look, but one of the most common starting points is your attire. When the sun comes out, you want to try and keep things nice and cool. Minimalism is always the best way to go when it comes to summer clothing; nice, comfortable clothing that allows you to breathe, and never too many layers. However, there are some other ways that you can make yourself look cool this summer without even trying. So, what works?
Find Your Best Color
We all have a color that makes us look absolutely fantastic. Some of us suit a nice teal color, while others might find they are more drawn to things like yellows, purples, or even reds. You need to find what your โsummer colorโ is and start dressing to that kind of color scheme.
You will find it much easier to build a sound and fun wardrobe if you go down the route of finding a color scheme that you can stick to. Find maybe even two colors that you like and use that to try and build a complimentary wardrobe that works well.
Focus On Our Accessories
Another big factor in looking cool during summer is finding creative accessories. Instead of going for the same jewelry that you might go for during winter, change it up a little. A few more minimalistic designs with a summer theme might help to sharpen up your wardrobe and inject a wee bit of personality that was missing beforehand.
Many of us stick with the same accessories all year round, but a good way to look cool this summer is to simply change up your accessory collection. This includes going for hats youโd often wear in winter, too!
Think About Your Eyes, Too
Many of us will have a pair of sunglasses to wear during summer, and that obviously makes a lot of sense. However, you should definitely think about your eyes and look to get some sunglasses (Iโm really into this style lately especially with the wooden frames which I think looks great and sometimes when the mood hits me, aviator sunglasses โ donโt judge) to help change up how you look. Instead of sticking with generic sunglasses that you have worn for years, changing it up and getting something a little bit more stylish might help to make a big change.
Of course, make sure you get something to help with your day-to-day vision. Why not trade in those normal glasses for some contact lenses?
What About Footwear?
Another thing to consider is to look for much more friendly footwear. Most of us go for that classic summer white shade, but try and find something that complements the rest of your look. Don’t be afraid to wear black shoes in the summer! For example, these Enjoiya Aria Slip-on Sneakers are a great choice for summer!
Itโs all about finding comfortable shoes that complement your look. If you have a mostly white outfit, go for a punchy colored shoe. If your outfit has a lot of colors in it, then go for a more neutral shoe.
Make Sure It Fits
While that might seem obvious, many people look to pick up a look that isnโt really going to fit them well. However, while you might โlookโ fitter, you will also feel the impact of sucking in any of your excess body weight. Instead of getting clothing that is going to make you look thinner, you should look to buy clothes that actually fit you.
Trust us, nothing is less cool than someone who is clearly uncomfortable in the clothes that they are wearing. Style is one thing, but making sure it fits you like a glove is vital.
Donโt Lose Out On Functionality
A good way to lose your cool in the summer is to have clothes so minimalistic in their storage that you lose your keys, sunglasses, and purse/wallet. Make sure you donโt get clothes that lack functionality just because you want to look cool โ there is often a just as cool but more functional option to pick from. If you want to look cool, then you want to look totally at ease and at peace with yourself.
Thatโs why missing out on functionality is not a good idea.
So, what ideas do you think youโll try to implement this summer to look cool without trying?
