If there’s one thing for certain, it’s that weight loss is indeed a process and it doesn’t always happen as fast as you expect or as fast as you’d like. Why? Well, there are a number of reasons as to why your weight loss journey could come to a screeching halt or not have even started at all. Some reasons are more obvious than others, but it’s certainly worth evaluating your current efforts to get to the bottom of why weight loss isn’t happening for you, and figuring out a better course of action.
If your weight loss efforts seem to be for nothing, there is a reason or reasons why it’s not happening for you. Let’s explore some of the most common weight loss problems and how to fix them.
You’re Stressed Out
You may not realize it but stress and weight gain go hand-in-hand and can attribute to a number of other health concerns. Stress can cause you to crave those “comfort foods”, which also increases your body’s production of cortisol, which then causes you to overeat causing weight loss problems.
When you’re feeling stressed about something, turn to stress relief tactics like implementing mindful meditation throughout your day or practicing a healthy habit like going for a quick walk when you find yourself starting to get stressed.
You Can’t Stick to Your Diet
A lot of people don’t like to use the word “diet” because they feel that the word automatically causes them to stray away from it. But the reality is that you just need to find the motivation to stick to your diet.
For lots of people, results are the motivation they need to stick to their diet, but with results, comes the desire to “reward” yourself for your results, and it’s the “rewarding” of their efforts that cause people to not stick to their diets.
So you lost 5lbs in a week and a half, all from changing your eating habits… That doesn’t mean you reward yourself by eating half a pizza and treating yourself to ice cream. Reward yourself by pushing yourself even harder so you can overcome your weight loss problems.
You’re Not Consuming Enough Greens
Green vegetables are powerhouses packed full of vitamins, nutrients, and antioxidants. But most people don’t get the recommended amount in their daily food intake alone. According to the CDC, adults should have two to three cups of vegetables per day.
You, of course, can get your daily intake by eating raw vegetables like salads or cooking your veggies as well. But you also can get your green vegetable intake by consuming cold-pressed juices as well. Raw Generation has a wide selection of cold-pressed green juices for you to choose from to help get your necessary daily intake. Raw juice is an excellent way to get your daily greens and will help fix your weight loss problems.
You’re Not Doing Enough Physical Activity
You can lose a significant amount of weight from simply changing your eating habits alone, but you’ll eventually hit a plateau because you need to incorporate more physical activity in addition to your new eating habits.
Incorporating more physical activity doesn’t mean joining a gym, unless you want to. More physical activity can mean walking your neighborhood after dinner, taking the stairs instead of the elevator, or doing light at-home workouts when you get home from work… It can even mean dancing in your living room like no one is watching… Anything that gets you moving your body more will contribute greatly to your weight loss efforts and help you get in shape.
There are several more things you could be doing wrong that is contributing to your weight loss problems but first, assess what you’re currently doing (or not doing) to determine a plan of action to get your weight loss journey back on track.
